Allison Soccer

The Grapes Soccer team had a fabulous goalie in Allison. She also played forward but her favorite was definately goalie.

Alex has begun his career in pop-warner football this year. He started with flag last year but moved up to tackle now and loves it. His team is the Patriots which is real hard for me to yell at the top of my lungs since I loathe the NFL Pats and was not upset at all when Brady was declared out for the season. Never the less we are all having a blast watching him. Team pictures will be posted when I get them.

This chick kicks butt!! I had resigned myself to vote McCain even though I don't like his democratic kissy kissy politics. Every time he "reaches across the aisle" we get some crappy legislation like campaign finance reform (which abridges free speech). I am jazzed about his VP pick and now will go happily punch the ticket for McCain in November. I look forward to the VP debate, I hope she mops up the floor with Biden!!

So I have been busy this Summer. My hospital opened a brand new campus in addition to the old one. It is huge and pretty and brand new and lots of new toys! It was pretty crazy though moving all the patients and starting at a new place with a few thousand of your closest friends. We have been open a month and are settling in to the new digs. Things have calmed down but every mom from Medford to Portland seems to want to deliver at the new hospital so we have been working a lot of overtime and long stretches. Yucky but the pay has been lovely.

My sweet Alex was finally baptized on March 29 just a few days before his 9th birthday. Scheduling conflicts have kept us from having the baptism last summer but finally he's dunked and with Dad present! The pic to the right is coming from Splash water park on the way to the baptism. He was wiped out.

JJ home for good.

Yeah! JJ got home on Wednesday afternoon. We couldn't be happier!

JJ is in Cali.

Finally! JJ is back in the states for good. This is a pic of him the week before we moved from FL. In a few days he will be here at home and we can take all the new pics we want!!! He had to go back to his "home of record" which is where he enlisted, so our reunion is delayed a few days but as soon as his household goods arrive(and lots of presents for the kids and me) he will be on his way here. If the shipment arrives as planned then he should be here like Thursday. Yeah. I'd say I can't believe the two years has flown by but that would be a complete lie. This has been the worst 2 years and every hour has dragged by! Yeah! it is over.

Today I showed my mom a video of Human Video Games I found on you tube called human space invaders. But it wasn't just human space invaders there was also Human tetris, human pole position and human pong. For the next couple minutes me and my mom watched these hilarious video's. JJ will be home this month!

I can finally say that JJ is coming home "this month". After so many, many months apart this is such an exciting thing. We are just in a flurry here getting ready for Big Daddy to come home. One part of me wants everything to be perfect when he gets here and the other part of me just wants him to hurry up and get here so he can help with all this work! Thanks to all my family for supporting me and helping me through this last almost 2 years! I have felt like I was a single mom a lot of the time, but not often does a single mom have such a wonderful support group and family members willing to sacrifice to help out, like I have had this last couple of years. You guys are awesome. Hopefully I will never have to return this huge of a favor to anyone(I wouldn't wish this kinda crap on anyone.) But you know JJ and I will be there for y'all when you need us.

We will be having a welcome back party a week or two after JJ gets here to celebrate and to thank everyone.

Snow Day

Yes it is snowing at the Halsey's house! We woke up to snow and and it is still coming down! The weather channel predicts snow throughout the night into tomorrow so we shall see how much it adds up to in the end. So far we are about 4 inches deep which is crazy for where we live.
Thor doesn't know what to think about this white stuff and doesn't last long before he joins Drew in the house.

A first glimpse out of the patio before venturing in the weather. The kids know just what to do even if their dog doesn't. They didn't waste any time finding their snow pants and heading outside this morning. You can see cousin Frank in the background enjoying himself.

2 more months!

Just 2 more months until JJ comes home!! We will know an exact date soon so I will keep you updated.

It is back to school for the kids and also me! As I was sitting here at my computer, Staring at a powerpoint and listening to my teacher lecture when I had that feeling of impending doom. It is probably just the sleep deprivation from this past stretch, but it worried me a little. I am still waiting on 2 of my school books to come in the mail, maybe tomorrow. It is just the start of term jitters I suppose. I know why six credits are considered fulltime for graduate students though! I think these 8 credits I am taking might give me a few more grey hairs. Enough complaining! I am excited and besides, this is taking up some time I could be studying, cleaning, sleeping, and playing with the kids!

My age is 7. MY Bothers age is 8. I know my bother an I are one year a part.

If y'all can't tell I am super excited about this blog. I was inspired by my sister Erin's endeavors on her family blog and I think I am addicted now. For all y'all that hate Myspace you can come and enjoy this website instead. I made this a family site, my myspace is more about things that I like and for my friends to write me etc. I tried to make this a pit stop for everyone that might be interested in our family. So enjoy and like my sister said to her guests, don't be blog stalkers. Make some comments. The kids will be reading and posting on here to so they will love reading it.
